How does a Sungrow hyrbid inverter work?

The Sungrow Hyrbid inverters (SH5K+ and SH5K-20) is fitted with a ‘LOAD CONTROL’ circuit for the purpose of controlling external loads under certain circumstances. When the ‘Load Control’ is triggered, a relay output closes the contacts on the internal DO1 port inside the inverter.

How to connect a hybrid inverter to a Smart Load?

The hybrid inverter can be connected to smart load through the DO signal cable. Refer to 4.1.2 DO Configuration to configure the DO function for smart load control. The hybrid inverter provides two control modes based on the port on the smart load. Prepare an additional DC source and an external relay.

How do you connect a do node to an inverter?

The max current of the DO dry contact is 3 Amps. The DO node does not operate when the inverter is off. Cable CSA = 1mm - 2 core Cable diameter = 3mm - 5.3mm Unscrew the cable clamp nut form any cable gland and pass cable through. Strip the cable and connect to DO1 terminals inside the inverter. Tighten the cable gland to ensure IP rating.

How to control a hybrid inverter?

The hybrid inverter provides two control modes based on the port on the smart load. Prepare an additional DC source and an external relay. Choose the proper contact capacity of the external relay according to the port on the smart load. Use the DC source to drive the relay. Figure 1 shows the control principle.
