What is high temperature thermal energy storage?

High temperature thermal energy storage offers a huge energy saving potential in industrial applications such as solar energy, automotive, heating and cooling, and industrial waste heat recovery. However, certain requirements need to be faced in order to ensure an optimal performance, and to further achieve widespread deployment.

How can EnergyNest improve the performance of a high temperature energy storage system?

In order to enhance flexibility in scaling up a high temperature TES, EnergyNest developed and tested a 2 × 500 kWth thermal energy storage system based on a modular design with HEATCRETE vp1 concrete as the storage medium, offering improved thermal conductivity, heat capacity, and compressive strength able to resist temperatures up to 400 °C.

Compared to traditional 20/40-foot metal energy storage containers, our single-unit modular design offers greater space flexibility, enhances space utilization efficiency, and reduces asset risks during disasters.
